What is a NP?
A nurse practitioner (NP) is a nurse who has advanced clinical education and training. They have a master's or doctorate in nursing. NPs share many of the same duties as doctors. They perform physical exams and diagnose and treat diseases. NPs can order lab work, imaging, home health, and hospice services.

Can a NP write perscriptions?
Yes, a Nurse Practitioner can write prescriptions.

Is there an MD there?
While our provider(s) have a collaborating physician, the doctor isn't affiliated with HALO or its patients.

Are you affiliated with any hospital(s)?
No. We do not have any hospital affiliation so you are free to go to the hospital of your choice.

What insurance do you take?
We accept Medicare, United Health Care, Aetna, Clover, Humana and most BCBS health plans.

Where are you located?
In the Okatie Outpatient Center. 40 Okatie Center Blvd S, Ste 215. Near Food Lion.

Do you use a patient portal?
Yes. This is the most efficient way to get in touch with your provider regarding medication refills or health questions. They may refer you to call the office to book an appointment. If they do, you can call 843-603-4800. Please see the link to the patient portal in the main menu above.

What does the first appointment consist of?
At your first appointment we would like to get to know you. Our provider will go over your history, medications and any issues you may have. Tell us your story because we are here to listen. You are your best advocate, so please let us know how we can help navigate your journey through health care.
